It's no contest. "Grandma Pat" Dixon, Parent Program Director for UYI, got the best Christmas gift of anyone on staff: A new house!
Pat's neighbors and co-workers, Chris and Colleen Tress (pictured here with Pat in front of the house), spearheaded the surprise by purchasing a $19,000 house on the same street where Pat was already living. The Tresses spread the word through letters, emails, and Facebook to raise money and recruit laborers to help with renovations. While Pat traveled out of state for the holidays, the Tresses and their amazing team of volunteer fixer-uppers worked around the clock to renovate the house in time for Pat's arrival on New Year's Day.
To read more about this wonderful story of the Body of Christ coming together to bless Pat and her three grandchildren, please read the article that appeared in the Palm Beach Post (thankfully, it went to press after Pat went on vacation!).
